And yes, It really does work
And you know why?
Because I did it myself and lost.....10.2 lbs!!!!
Ok, So Thursday was my last day.
I weighed myself after day 4 and after day 6 and lastly after day 7 on day 8.
I will not even lie to you. This diet was hard and took lots of discipline and restraint.
Some things I learned.
1.) After being on this strict diet, I can totally transition to a healthy, low calorie, low fat, overall better way of eating. Once you eat nothing for 7 days, anything taste better after that
2.) This diet was worth it. Seeing myself getting skinnier, having my pants go on with ease makes the 7 days so worth it.
3.) Snacking on food when I'm not even really hungry or because I'm bored is so stupid. Giving that up now.
4.) I will always love good food but as long as I eat healthy and work out, I can totally treat myself and have good, fattening food from time to time.
5.) After having no salt or butter or anything good like that for 7 days, I don't need as much salt as I used to use. I can def cut back. I don't need as much butter as I used to use. I can def cut back
6.) I should be drinking more water. Point blank Period
Now on to the pictures plus details and explanations.
Ok so day one is nothing but fruit. literally, that is it.
I ate Cantelope, Honey Dew Melon, Strawberries, Oranges and Mangoes.
I hated this day because I seriously got tired of eating sweet fruit.
The creators of this 7 day diet recommend taking some multivitamins, vitamin c and a few others.
I took Vitamin C every day
as well as
Chromium tablets every day and I actually continue to take them now.
They are designed to help breakdown carbs, sugars, fats and turn them into healthy energy.
Pretty much to help the bad stuff from going to your fat cells.
Day 2 was Veggies only but you are actually allowed to eat one potato this day which includes butter!
I died when I ate that Potato..soo good!
On veggie day I ate plain Coleslaw- so nasty!
Broccoli, Cauliflower and carrots.
Some of the seasons I used. All Salt free.
THE Potato!
Butter and Pepper only. No Salt
(Day 3 is just day 1 and 2 combined)
(Also, I only drank water. No juice or anything for 7 days)
Day 4 was Banana and milk day only.
You are allowed to sub the milk for low fat, low cal Yogurt
On Banana day I made a smoothie for breakfast
and for lunch and dinner I just ate whole Bananas and 2 more yogurts.
Day 5 is Fowl and Tomatoes.
So, you can have chicken, turkey or fish- As much as you want plus up to 6 tomatoes.
I baked my chicken and blended my tomatoes to make a sauce.
I was only able to eat 2 tomatoes this way. I HATE tomatoes.
Also- I used Ms. Dash for the chicken. Remember- No salt.
(Day 6 is the same as day 5 except instead of tomatoes you eat veggies)
(Omg, I was so tired of chicken that I wanted to die)
(On day 6 I just baked my chicken with some lemon and pepper)
Day 7 is cabbage soup day.
I don't know if this looks good or not but I hated it!
Ugh!!!
In conclusion- I lost 10.2 lbs and it was worth it. Hard but worth it.
If anyone has any questions or even a support system if you plan to do this just comment or email me.
I didn't cheat one time!
Please don't cheat and you WILL see results.

DeleteI am just starting day 7. I've lost 5 pounds so far, but have cheated a bit. Sugar Free Hazelnut Cream in my coffee every morning, diet soda, salt on my veggies and chicken, ONE 20 calorie hot chocolate, ONE pint of Arctic Zero ice cream (only 150 calories total). It is very strange to be able to eat as much as you want, but to get so sick of the food for that day. The highlight of the week was that baked potato with butter. I had a sweet potato/yam. It was the best tasting sweet potato I have ever had in my life. I really miss carbs. I want to sink my teeth into a big, fat bagel or scarf a bowl of popcorn so bad. I'm hoping after today with the soup I will drop a few more pounds. I have been drinking TONS of water, even though I have cheated with some coffee and diet soda. I thought I would have lost more now that is the morning of day 7 and it's hard to believe that my few little cheats could have made a 5 pound difference, but we shall see tomorrow morning. Thank you for your review!! I think it will be much easier to go back to my healthy eating after this because after being deprived, even a low-carb tortilla will be a treat.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you began!
DeleteDiet Soda has sodium plus you are adding salt to your veggies and chicken which will make you retain water and see less weight loss on the scale. Hot Dogs are also so very high in sodium.
I know it is so hard to go without salt but I told myself that if I am going to suffer for 7 days, I am going to follow it exactly for 7 days. Either way. Kudos to you for doing and sticking with it. Just make sure that after you are done that you start working out and keep a healthy diet to keep it off :)
Hi, could you tell me what your starting weight was prior to this diet? Just wondering if I will be able to get the same results. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey :)
DeleteI can email you my weight. Just give me your email address.
Now that you completed this diet 8months ago, how did you maintain keeping the weight off after? How are you doing now with this lifestyle change?
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteI am doing very well after all this time. I have managed to keep all the weight off plus more. After this diet I lost another 11 pounds for a total weight loss of 22lbs and that was with a 1200 calorie diet and regular exercise.
You can't stay on a 1200 calorie diet forever so I just easy healthy overall and still no juice, only water and crystal light because juice and soda is empty calories. I like to drink alcohol so if I do that, I just work out harder and eat even better for the day.
:)
It's great to know that you were able to keep all of the weight off. That is my goal in doing this diet. I want to cleanse and detox my body but also get back on track with my weight loss. I'm gonna start this diet in a few days.
DeleteCan you elaborate more on how you were able to lose an additional 11lbs after completing this diet. What did you eat or do after you finished?
Thanks for your insight & for sharing your story!
Hello :)
DeleteGood luck with this diet!
I am going to be doing a video very soon on everything I did after the 7 day diet. It would be way too much to write.
I will link the video on this page as soon as I get it done.
Thanks for visiting my blog :)
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI just started this diet today...and I am already looking forward to the veggie day because I want something else. I lost weight a few years back and after having a baby, I am finding it really hard to stick to anything. I am determined to stick to this diet, as my friends wedding is coming up and I really would like to look great in my dress.
And feel better in general when it comes to my pants. HA HA
Thanks for the blog!
Good luck & let me know how it works out!
DeleteOh yea and having your pants fit better is always worth it :)
Hey!!! I'll be starting on this up comming monday! What kind of yogurt did you use?
ReplyDeleteHey Leslie :)
DeleteIf you look at day four there is a picture and it shows the yogurt. I believe it was the Yoplait Source 0%.
I hope it works out well for you! Good luck!
Did you get constipated eating all those bananas?
ReplyDeleteLol.
DeleteNo
What was your starting weight?x
ReplyDeleteHey Zoe :)
DeleteIf you give me your email I can give it to you there or you can email me at girlsaredolls@yahoo.com
Thanks Doll!
If you substitute the yogurt for the 8 cups of milk, how much yogurt are you allowed?
ReplyDeleteHey Jenn.
ReplyDeleteI purchased a set of 8 yogurts to substitute for the 8 cups of milk.
Good luck :)
Really good to hear about your achievement. I am starting this diet tomorrow and I am a little excited about it. Hopefully I will be successful and stick to it. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donna!
DeleteI really hope it works out for you :)
Congrats on your success! :)
ReplyDeleteSo for the soup day, you eat the soup 3 times that day?
Thank you !
DeleteYou eat the soup all day. There is not a specified amount :)
Thank you for all your helpful tips. I'm thinking of doing this very soon. Can I exercise while on this?
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome.
DeleteYes, you can work out as long as you have the energy :)
So basically there is no breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, or portion sizes....you can eat as much as you want throughout the day according the daily menu? And what type of yogurt?
ReplyDeleteExactly :)
DeleteYoplait Source 0% is what I used.
I ran across your blog doing research for this diet. I'm starting on Monday hopefully I will be able to stick to it. I have hit a plateau and havent lost weight in weeks. Im really praying this moves the scale.
ReplyDeleteHey Donielle :)
DeleteI hope it works out for you. Let me know when you finish !
I'm on the first day of the diet and I won't be able to exercise during the entire week. But, on the plus side, I won't be eating that potato. Is it still possible for me to lose 10 pounds?
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteYes, I didn't work out and I lost the 10 lbs.
I can't say for sure how missing the potato will affect the outcome of the diet.
Good luck :)
Started day 4 today and lost 5 pounds so far =) I love this diet!
ReplyDeleteOmg ! That's so awesome !!!
ReplyDeleteKeep going :)
I've decided to start this diet next week. I was curious if plain unflavored sodium free seltzer water okay to drink during the 7 days.
ReplyDeleteHello Stephanie !
DeleteIf It has carbonation it may not be the best choice but I can't say for sure.
I hope everything works out :)
How much of the soup did you eat?
ReplyDeleteHello. I didn't eat very much. Maybe one or two bowls.
DeleteI just really didn't like the taste.
What was your starting weight before you did this diet? Also how much soup did you eat?
ReplyDeleteI ate very little of the soup. Maybe one or two bowls.
DeleteI found a great alternative for the tomato haters! (ME! ME!)
ReplyDeleteDecided to try a "tomato salsa" instead just eating a tomato and baked over my chicken. Not TOO bad. Just diced a few of them up, added, chili, garlic, and onion powder, Mrs Dash tomato basil garlic (sodium free of course), and some cilantro. It was quite edible!!!
Thank you !!!
DeleteThat sounds like a great idea. I will have to try that next time :)
Ok, so I did this diet. The first 3 days were the hardest. No matter how much fruit and/or vegetables I ate, I wasn't satisfied.Once lost 3.5 after the 1st day, I had to follow this all the way through.
ReplyDeleteI really looked forward to day 4 because I felt like I could eat food with substance. I couldn't force down all 8 bananas and cups of plain greek yogurt, I stopped at 6 each.
As for day 5, being a South Jersey girl, I'm picky about my tomatoes. It was mid-late June by this day and a local produce stand was selling hydroponic tomatoes since anything in gardens are still green or blossoms. I counted ½ pint of grape tomatoes as 1 tomato. *The small tomatoes like grape and cherry are sweet and juicy, not powdery in texture.
Day 6 was great! Enough said for that day.
Day 7 was hard! I didn't care for it one bit! However I told myself that was what I was eating that day.
In turn, it was all worth it and I lost 7 lbs! I'm happy! It was a great jump start! I highly recommend!
I'm so excited and happy to hear that you lost 7lbs !!!!
DeleteIt really is a great jump start.
Thank you so much for sharing !
On the chicken days, do eggs count or no?
ReplyDeleteHello :)
DeleteI don't think so. I only say this because I don't know how many you would be able to sub. Sorry hun.
Hi! I'm trying this our and marking my progress. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletehttp://justyoureaveragetwentysomething.wordpress.com/2014/07/06/the-eat-your-heart-out-diet/
No problem ! :)
DeleteI started this today and I'm really looking forward to the veggies tomorrow! Did you reach your over all total goal? I'm ising this as a jump start, hope to loose 15-20 total. Thanks for sharing and being so thorough!!
ReplyDeleteHey Trisha!
DeleteI did reach my overall goal. I ended up reaching my goal of losing 21-22lbs. So yes, it is a very good jump start.
GoodLuck !
Thanks! One more question, I haven't um, used the potty since Monday. Started the diet yesterday and I'm drinking plenty of water. Thanks for any help or advice you might have for me!!!
ReplyDeleteNo problem !
DeleteI actually don't remember having that "issue". Lol.
It may be that everyone's body respond differently....so I'm not 100% sure :(
I would love to lose 10 lbs, but thats all I have to lose. I am at my last 10 lbs. Do you think I could still lose 10 lbs in one week?
ReplyDeleteI lost 10lbs myself so I do believe you could lose 10lbs although people at a smaller amount could lose less....It wouldn't hurt to try either way. Goodluck :)
DeleteHow often can this be done?
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteI have only done it once but I have read about people who do it quite often: Some have done it around every 2 months or when they hit a plateau.
Hope this helps :)
Do you know if it's ok to drink black coffee while doing this?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. ...
ReplyDeleteBut if you do, of course don't add anything.
:)
hey how much was everything for the 7 days?? great job btw
ReplyDeleteI actually don't remember but I tried to use items that I already had in my house. I only had to buy more fruit and the items needed for the last day.
DeleteIs there a substitute for tomatoes, I hate them, can't stand them.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a sub for tomatoes. I hate them as well, like really hate them and I had to suffer through them the best I could. I actually only ate maybe one or two.
Did anyone do this while breastfeeding? If so, any negative effects?
ReplyDeleteI haven't had anyone comment about doing this while breastfeeding. Anyone who has, please feel free to comment.
DeleteI'm on day 2 right now. I am also breastfeeding. I didnt have any problems yesterday. I am also taking a daily multivitamin. I'm starting off at 215. Im hoping to see and feel a difference. On some other blogs I saw where you can eat the cabbage soup daily. Have you read that?
ReplyDeleteI have read that somewhere else. I believe they sub out everything else of the cabbage soup but that is possibly the Cabbage soup diet. I am not sure how well that works.
DeleteGood Luck!
How did it work with your breastfeeding? Was it enough calories? Did your supply drop? I'm interested in trying it. TIA!
ReplyDeleteI have completed day one and two and have realized the kind of crap I have put in my body. I have lost 6 lbs so far I am so excited to finish this out and change the way I eat for good thank u for this information. U should be paid for this. Feel great. Lighter and not tired
ReplyDeleteGreat Job on the 6lb lost!!! That's awesome! I completely agree that it totally makes you aware of the bad stuff we give our bodies. Thanks for leaving a comment :)
DeleteHi I plan on starting this monday! I really want to get rid of the rest of this baby weight. Have u heard of taking a detox with this?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteI haven't heard of anyone trying a detox with this. A water detox may be okay as long as you don't have to add anything like honey.
Let me know how it works :)
I completed this diet June 1st! I lost 11 pounds! How often can you repeat this diet?
ReplyDeleteHi Michaela!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! I believe you can do it every month but I would do it every other month just to give your body a break. Thank you so much for sharing :)
Thanks so much for sharing! I'm excited to try this and can't wait to see the changes!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I absolutely DESPISE bananas. Do you have any suggestions for an alternative instead of those boogers?
Hi !
ReplyDeleteI don't think there are any alternatives :(
I hate Tomatoes, Like really hate them and just had to suffer through them. Good Luck Hun !
So I wanna try this! I noticed it didn't say exactly how much soup you are supposed to eat on the last day. Are you supposed to eat the whole pot that you made??
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Hi ! You are supposed to eat as much as you can :)
DeleteI'm allergic to bananas. What can I substitute?
ReplyDeleteHi, I would do the skim milk and Yogurt that day if you can't have the bananas :)
DeleteThis is my third day on the diet, I can't wait for the fifth day (I want chicken) lol. So far so good, it's not that hard girls, you can do it! What I like the most about this diet is that it HEALTHY. Its like becoming vegetarian for 3 days, so it is totally safe :)
ReplyDeleteThe first day was hard because I didn't eat anything "warm" so I eat melon like crazy lol. Second day much better, more options and warm food, I didn't feel hungry at all :D...
Good Job! Thank you for sharing :)
DeleteSounds like you did this awhile ago, but I found your blog researching this diet, so thought I'd share my 2 cents...
ReplyDeleteI'm on day 4...milk and banana day isn't as bad as I thought it would be! Totally looking forward to some protein though. I have been putting a little sea salt on my veggies and I accidentally had a beer last night - went to a friend's poker night after eating dinner at home with the intention of no snacking, got there and everyone was drinking so I was like "who's got a beer for me?!" and then halfway through the night, I realized "oh crap! I'm on a diet!" haha, woops. Hopefully it doesn't mess up the progress I've made so far. Not a bad diet though. The fact that it's something a little different everyday helps a lot. I can see myself doing it again.
LOL...No Beer! It's okay though :)
DeleteCome back and let me know how much you lost overall.
hi, thanks a lot for the review on this diet. started already on day three now.... i want to know if using soy sauce for the chicken, potato and all is ok, cos i substituted it for salt.
ReplyDeleteNo. I wouldn't use soy sauce. it has sooo much sodium which is salt. Good luck!
DeleteHi saw your video on you tube can you tell me if eatimg the soup everyday is recommended as i am seeing that the soup can be eaten everyday along with the recommended food for each day?
ReplyDeleteHi, Not for this particular diet. Cabbage soup is only allowed on day 7.
DeleteDo you know if black coffee is ok??
ReplyDeleteDo you know if black coffee is ok?
ReplyDeleteHi, No, it isn't recommended.
DeleteAfter coming across your review, I decided this was just what I needed to kickstart healthy again. I just finished this diet on Sunday, and I highly recommend it. It was a success for me, and I had lots of energy! I was a little skeptical, but I did lose 10 pounds, and better than that, my husband commented after returning home from a business trip, and not knowing I was on this diet! So, success all around. I would definitely do again in the future.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! I loved hearing this. Thank you so much for sharing and congrats!
